Web design & build
Novalux is a renewable energy company committed to engineering and technical excellence. They aim to show how, when expertly designed, installed and maintained, renewable energy can have considerable financial benefits alongside its environmental ones.
As one of the first companies to install wood gasification CHP in the UK, Novalux have more experience with this technology than most. They also install biomass boilers and solar PV, service biomass boilers and provide wood chip fuel.
To create a visually stunning, contemporary and distinctive website that clearly shows their industry expertise alongside their aim to be leaders of innovation and service within the renewable energy market. They didn’t want their website to look or sound like ‘just another renewable energy company’, but to have the feel of a global brand like Nest or Apple, while retaining their local focus. Crucially, they wanted their company’s personality and high service standards to come to the fore.
The site also had to have an easy to use Content Management System (CMS). The renewable energy market is constantly changing so Novalux have to be able to update their information quickly and easily.
Using their current branding as a starting point, we created a brand template that was image rich but worked in synergy with their company colours. We then used this template to inspire a suite of marketing materials as well as the website design.
We built the site on WordPress as it has an intuitive CMS system that allows Novalux to easily update their information and images. WordPress also gave us the flexibility to create them a specific design.
We designed a clear site structure that is easy to navigate and guides visitors to the information they need. And we wrote the copy in clear and compelling language that makes what can be quite complicated products easy to understand.
Our talented photographer, Emma, created a large portfolio of professional yet personal images from a couple of on-site photo shoots. This gives the site the look and feel of a global brand – something stock photography can never do.
Finally, graphics in the brand style and colours help to illustrate technical information and signpost calls to action.
